A good portrait shows more than a face – it captures the person behind it and if it goes well, you also learn something about the person.
For me, photographing people is a very personal matter. Every person has their own story, personality and energy, and that’s exactly what I want to make visible in my portraits.
In doing so, I get completely involved with the person I’m photographing. Sometimes it takes time – a longer period of getting to know each other, a conversation or moments together to build a connection. And sometimes it’s that one moment that sparks an instant connection. Either way, something unique is created: pictures that don’t show the facade, but the person.
