IG Metal delegates’ meeting in Munich
A look behind the scenes at the IG Metall delegates’ assembly: My assignment as a photographer
As a photographer, I had the exciting task of documenting the IG Metall delegates’ meeting in Munich – an event that was characterised by speeches and quiet moments, but was nevertheless full of expression and meaning.
The challenge was to capture a rather static event in a visually lively way. But this was precisely where the appeal lay: between concentrated faces, intense discussions and quiet moments of reflection, expressive images were created that authentically reflect the atmosphere and significance of the meeting.
My photos tell the story of this special day. They not only document the speeches and the atmosphere in the hall, but also focus on the people: the faces of the delegates, their gestures and facial expressions, their dedication and their responsibility. The portraits were particularly impressive, visualising the commitment and determination of the participants in a very personal way.
Another focus was on the mood of the meeting. It was important to me to capture the dynamics of the discussions, the quiet moments of reflection and the powerful moments of agreement. In this way, the images not only reflect the course of the event, but also convey a sense of community and cohesion that characterises the work of IG Metall.
The result was a visual reportage that emphasises the key events and the human aspect of the delegates’ meeting. It was an inspiring experience for me to be part of this important event and to be able to tell the story of IG Metall in pictures through my work.
There is a story behind every silent second – and it is the photographer’s art to make it visible. (ChatGPT)
